Advantages of the microphone:
Reasonably convenient Bluetooth convenience for listening
Disadvantages of the microphone:
Apparently the microphone is good when it actually works, but there is something which mutes it down to nothing after a short while.

This is my second test because the first one seemed like a fluke, and indeed, that seems to have been the case
