Mic Test

Review #13260 about “Blue Yeti”

Microphone: Blue Yeti
Rating: Excellent (5 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the microphone:
Part Audio Interface Multiple polar pattern Integrated Gain adjustment Comes with a well made stand

Disadvantages of the microphone:
Sometimes it does not get detected. [not sure if that is just an system OS or a usb thing] pretty hefty in weight and size. USB Mini connection. Mute toggle button is finicky.

Author’s comment:
For $170USD new, it's a great quality mic with a wide range of versatility for people just starting out. But now knowing more about Mics and what I specifically want out of one, the Blue Yeti has a lot of features i don't think i'll ever use. I mainly just use the Cardioid pattern and adjust levels in my recording software That's not to say that this is a bad mic. oh heck no. For what it's worth it's an amazing mic to start with. Don't let people tell you it's bad. It works and sounds wonderfully.
