Microphone: Monoprice Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphones (Pair) - (600700)
Rating: Excellent (5 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the microphone:
Very clear and articulate sound. Can be out of frame (not visible) for video meetings

Disadvantages of the microphone:
Picks up desk and ambient noise. Requires a room with much sound deadening

Author’s comment:
These are "pencil-type" small diaphram condenser microphones which I have connected via a MOTU M4 usb audio interface. Microphones are arranged as an xy-stereo pair, 20cm (8in) directly above by 45 degrees from my mouth. These mics are natural sounding but do have maybe a tad too much high frequencies. Using an EQ plugin to take out sibilance in my voice and resonant room frequencies makes the sound extremely good.
