Advantages of the microphone:
microphone is built into earbuds. works decently for a phone call. minimal feedback from outside sources.
Disadvantages of the microphone:
mic quality low. mic sounds tinny, other audio does not. works in a pinch, but the quality wouldn't be great for recording. miccuts in and out on occasion.
