Advantages of the microphone:
simple to set up, cable splitter for separate mic and headphone sockets, decent quality in both regards.
Disadvantages of the microphone:
sensitive to keyboard noises during calls, tends to pick up breathing noises. quiet in OBS and windows game capture recordings.

got what i paid for, balanced audio quality. using a foam brush head as a popfilter, no other mods. just found out about the auto-gain, very cool. would prefer to upgrade to a better headset over buying another one, but was a welcome upgrade at time of purchase.
