Mic Test

Review #28460 about “Microsoft Modern USB-C Speakerphone”

Microphone: Microsoft Modern USB-C Speakerphone
Rating: Excellent (5 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the microphone:
This speakerphone sounds really good and the microphone pickup is really nice and clear as well. It also has built in noise cancellation which works even without any specific software downloaded for the speakerphone. It works out of the box with MacOS as well as with Linux (I did my test on a Fedora 39 system). Go into settings and choose this device as your speaker. Done.

Disadvantages of the microphone:
The only disadvantage I see is the MS Teams button. On Linux and Mac, this button does nothing. I would like to see it pop up a menu and allow the user to choose the video conference software they need for this particular meeting. Not every meeting uses teams. On Linux and Mac this button does nothing.

Author’s comment:
Great USB speakerphone for small office. Also nice for travel as its pretty small. Sounds great and mic pickup is really nice as well.
