Advantages of the microphone:
Good sound for speech. Relatively cheap. Can be placed at quite a distance and will still sound good, as long as the room has reasonable acoustics
Disadvantages of the microphone:
Picks up any sound in the vicinity. Not suited for rooms where multiple people work. Needs dedicated audio interface with 48V phantom power to work.
