Mic Test

Review #29809 about “FiFine K-669”

Microphone: FiFine K-669
Rating: Good (4 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the microphone:
Dynamic diaphragm, full metal build, microphone has some heft to it, if it were handed to me without knowing the price of the mic I'd guess it's a whole lot more than $37. Mic can pick up lots of detail with the gain cranked a little higher, and blocks out noise adequately at lower gains without losing a lot of up close voice detail (VoIP). I have not used this microphone for recording thus far, so I do not know the level of clarity and detail one can acquire in that set. Adding to how this microphone acts over VoIP, this microphone will faintly pick up loud keyboard sounds, for reference I am using the Asus K7. This is a solid, very budget friendly microphone that REQUIRES AN AUDIO INTERFACE! So if you do not want to shell out extra money on an XLR cord and audio interface, I would refer to the FiFine K669B, which is also excellent and connects via USB (and is $25 as of 3/1/24).

Disadvantages of the microphone:
With the price of this microphone you can only expect one thing within the package, the microphone and a metal tri-stand. XLR cables can be very cheap to manufacture, yet this does not come with one. Another complaint I have is that it does not come with a pop filter, which is also very cheap to manufacture. Functions well.
