on the headset, you can turn on passthrough mode so you can hear other people or other noises outside of the headset, in case you are in an environment when you are needed
Disadvantages of the microphone:
the headset dongle breaks and is very cheap feeling, so unless you have money to spend, please do not buy turtle beach, they are very bad headsets
