Review #37629 about “Editors Key SL600 ”

Microphone: Editors Key SL600
Rating: Excellent (5 out of 5)
Date:

Advantages of the microphone:
The SL600 delivers a warm, full-bodied voice with excellent presence—perfect for podcasting, streaming or voice‑overs. The built‑in headphone amp and zero‑latency monitoring let you hear yourself in real time, and the intuitive gain & headphone knobs make level‑setting a breeze. Its solid metal chassis and shock‑mount cradle also cut down handling noise and desk vibration.

Disadvantages of the microphone:
It lacks any onboard high‑pass filter or polar‑pattern switch, so you’ll need to roll off low end and apply pattern changes in your DAW or hardware preamp. The –10 dB pad is a single, fairly coarse step, and the gain knob can be a bit jumpy when trying to hit an exact level without clipping. You’ll also need an external phantom‑power source and audio interface—this isn’t a plug‑and‑play USB mic.
