It is shaped to have a natural "clip" to a laptop, and it does balance well, though you'll have to put if off-center so it doesn't block the camera lens. The microphone itself is probably one and a half times better than your built-in microphone. Not worth it for most folks, but it's a neat gadget with a smart design.
